Corbin Burnes Tagged With His Fourth Loss On Thursday

Corbin Burnes

Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Corbin Burnes labored through his start against the Philadelphia Phillies on Thursday and wound up with his fourth loss of the year. He threw 113 pitches and was only able to last 4 1/3 innings as he gave up three hits, four walks and three runs (one earned) while striking out eight. Burnes earned quality starts in five of his six starts in May, pitching to a 2.08 ERA across the month. However, June has been a different story thus far as he lasted just 3 2/3 innings in his first start of the month. The right-hander is now 3-4 on the year with a 2.48 ERA and a 0.96 WHIP. He’ll try to get back into the win column in his next start against the New York Mets next Wednesday.
