Danny Jansen Returns To Baseball Activities

Toronto Blue Jays relief pitcher Matt Gage celebrates with catcher Danny Jansen

Toronto Blue Jays catcher Danny Jansen (hand) has resumed light baseball activities, according to Blue Jays reporter Keegan Matheson. Jansen has begun swinging a bat and receiving the ball from behind the plate. His next steps will be taking full swings and making contact with pitches. Jansen has been on the shelf for about two weeks after fracturing a bone in his left hand. The 27-year-old has been held to just 19 games this year due to injuries, but he’s produced well when he’s been on the field, slashing .232/.290/.625 with seven home runs, 13 RBI and nine runs.
