Enrique Hernandez Recovering Slowly, Return Date Pushed Back

Boston Red Sox center fielder Enrique Hernandez catches a line drive

Boston Red Sox second baseman/outfielder Enrique Hernandez (hip) is recovering slowly from a strained right hip and will return at a later date than previously expected. According to Red Sox manager Alex Cora, Hernandez might have had a setback. The 30-year-old has been sidelined since June 5, and more details on the severity of his injury should be announced after further evaluation. Jarren Duran continues to fill in for Hernandez and has been the team’s leadoff hitter the previous three games. Duran can be used as a streamer and should be added in all league formats while he has an everyday role. The Red Sox’s top prospect has been solid recently, collecting three multi-hit performances and swiping two bags over his last four games.
