Joe Barlow Secures 13th Save On Wednesday

Texas Rangers relief pitcher Joe Barlow and catcher Jonah Heim

Texas Rangers pitcher Joe Barlow threw a scoreless inning to earn the save in Wednesday’s 4-2 win over the Philadelphia Phillies. He entered the ninth in Wednesday’s game to protect a two-run lead. The 26-year-old tossed a clean inning to earn his 13th save of the year. He had struggled in June recently, allowing three runs in his last four appearances. Despite his recent struggles, the right-hander is the Rangers’ primary closer and has converted 13-of-15 save chances in 2022. Overall, Barlow owns a 2.91 ERA, 0.99 WHIP, and 20 strikeouts over 24 1/3 innings.
