Kevin Kiermaier Leaves Early Monday With Hip Issue

Tampa Bay Rays center fielder Kevin Kiermaier was through the dugout

Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Kevin Kiermaier left Monday’s game against the New York Yankees with inflammation in his left hip. Kiermaier appeared to be feeling some discomfort in his leg during his first, and only, at-bat in the game. He wound up striking out and was replaced in center field by Brett Phillips. Kiermaier just returned a few days earlier after missing some time with tightness in his Achilles. The veteran is hitting .229 with seven homers, 26 runs, 17 RBI, and five steals over 179 at-bats. Look for Tampa Bay to update his status after Monday’s game ends.
