Najee Harris Could See Lighter Workload

Najee Harris

After spending his rookie season as the workhorse running back, the Pittsburgh SteelersNajee Harris is potentially in line for a lighter workload in 2022. Harris finished year one in the NFL with 307 carries for 1,200 yards and seven touchdowns. The running back was also utilized heavily in the passing game as well, hauling in 74 receptions for 467 yards receiving and three touchdowns.

Most of that was due to the now retired Ben Roethlisberger, who possessed an arm equivalent to a noodle in his final seasons. However, with Mitchell Trubisky now expected to take over as the starting quarterback, the Steelers are clearly trying to protect their Harris investment. Whether Trubisky can be good enough to unlock and open up the Pittsburgh offense remains to be seen, but all this talk of a reduced workload should be taken with a grain of salt.

While Benny Snell could see more opportunities in short yardage situations and Anthony McFarland Jr. also having a small role, Harris will still be the top back in the Steel City. Therefore, fantasy managers shouldn’t be scared off by this. But bettors can potentially benefit by locking in the under on Harris’ season long rushing yard total at DraftKings

They have a 50(!) yard advantage over FanDuel, who is only offering 1100.5. But over on DraftKings we can get the extra cushion and lock in the under 1150.5 for a sweet price of -115.
