Seiya Suzuki Shut Down For Five Days

Seiya Suzuki

Chicago Cubs outfielder Seiya Suzuki (finger) will be shut down from batting practice and some other baseball activities for at least five days to get the swelling all the way out of his injured finger. Suzuki’s recovery from a sprained left ring finger is coming along slowly, and he hasn’t played since May 26. There’s a chance that the Japanese outfielder will need to go on a minor league rehab assignment before returning to the Cubs lineup. The 27-year-old had slowed down a bit offensively before his injury, but he still deserves to be stashed in most fantasy leagues, as he is hitting .245/.344/.432 overall with four home runs, 21 RBI, 20 runs scored and three stolen bases in his first 163 MLB plate appearances.
