Bo Bichette's Social Media Frenzy
There are a ton of fun little quirks and stories one could share about Bo Bichette. His demeanor is routinely cited in the Toronto Blue Jays’ locker room as a source of strength. His father played in the big leagues, much like two teammates that shared the infield grass. His quick hands have earned him the title of many’s toughest batter to pitch to. Few possess his combination offense, defense, and the occasional stolen base.
Yet, Bichette grew to popularity thanks to a fairly elementary social media trend.
Flow Bichette. Bro Bichette. Low Bichette.
It turns out, a lot of things rhyme with “Bo,” and Twitter users flooded their timelines with their best attempts to find a new one and pair it with an, often photoshopped, picture.
As baseball fans reminisced on their days learning to read, or for Yankees fans, the days prior, a moderately known ballplayer quickly saw his popularity soar amongst the average fan.
I’m not so sure Major League Baseball can work this marketing scheme into the fold, but I’m excited to see how they poorly attempt to replicate it in future years.
