Westbrook's Second Endeavor
If you've followed the career of Russell Westbrook, you're privy to the experiences that come with his feud with Kevin Durant, his preternatural ability to put up triple-doubles, and a flurry of mid-career moves that has landed him next to LeBron James on the Los Angeles Lakers.
That final addition to the transaction log hasn't panned out as well as he would've hoped. The schematic fit is clunky at best and the disappearance of his already-lackluster jump shot has made Lakers games unbearable. If this is the end, though, don't expect Westbrook to disappear.
His on-court struggles are diametrically opposed to the noise he's been making in the fashion industry. What started as a passion for pre-game fits and fun outfits for post-game pressers has evolved into Honor the Gift, a clothing line that promotes self-believe and hard work.
The brand benefits inner city communities and helps encourage them to follow their dreams, much like Westbrook did on his way to becoming a future NBA Hall of Famer, and now, an influential style icon.
Westbrook uses his clothing to tell stories and help others write their own. The novel of his NBA career may have a few pages left, but its writer isn't going anywhere fast.
