Anthony DeSclafani Could Rejoin Rotation Next Week

Anthony DeSclafani

San Francisco Giants starting pitcher Anthony DeSclafani (ankle) is nearing a return to the majors. According to Giants manager Gabe Kapler, DeSclafani could be back on the mound for the team next week and he’s particularly eyeing the team’s game against the Atlanta Braves on June 21 for DeSclafani’s next start. DeSclafani has been out since late April with right ankle inflammation. He made his second rehab start at Triple-A on Thursday and struggled in the outing, allowing four runs (three earned) across 2 2/3 innings. The 32-year-old only made three starts with the Giants before landing on the injured list this year. Over those three starts, he posted a 6.08 ERA and a 1.80 WHIP.
