Breece Hall Signs Rookie Contract

Excitement for New York Jets second-round selection Breece Hall hasn’t slowed down since Joe Douglas traded up for him in April. Instead, it has geared up for a highly anticipated rookie season. Fans and teammates alike will get to see the hype grow during training camp now that Hall has signed his four-year rookie deal.

The deal is worth $9 million and includes a hefty $3.7 million signing bonus. The well-regarded Iowa State product was generally agreed upon as the best running back in his draft class. Now that his contract is signed, he’ll be able to show it.

Many expect Hall to be the lead back from the jump, despite Michael Carter’s inspiring rookie season in 2021. Instead of drafting a complementary back, New York made Carter one himself.

Subsequently, Hall has garnered +1000 odds to win Offensive Rookie of the Year. If he gets the workload his draft capital and contract would lead one to expect, he should be in the mix for the award all year long, especially with an improved offensive line.
