Bryse Wilson To Start Game 2 Against Cardinals

Bryse Wilson

Pittsburgh Pirates right-hander Bryse Wilson is being recalled from the minors in order to start Game 2 of a doubleheader against the St. Louis Cardinals on Tuesday. Outfield prospect Travis Swaggerty and Aaron Fletcher are being optioned to the minors in corresponding moves. Wilson will likely be sent back to Triple-A Indianapolis after the outing, and he won’t be a recommended fantasy streamer against St. Louis. The 24-year-old lost his spot in Pittsburgh’s starting rotation earlier this year after allowing 24 earned runs on 37 hits while walking 14 and striking out 24 in 28 2/3 innings in eight appearances (five starts). Wilson has a 5.94 career ERA and 1.61 WHIP with a weak 16.3% strikeout rate in five big-league seasons.
