The Rockets are trading forward/center Christian Wood to the Mavericks in exchange for the No. 26 pick in the 2022 NBA Draft. Wood has been a capable producer during his two seasons in Houston, averaging 19.1 points and 9.9 boards while shooting 38.2% from deep. He’s due to make $14.3 million this season, providing much-needed support for a Dallas team sorely lacking a stable presence underneath the basket. The 26-year-old has had issues staying healthy over the years, and his free throw percentage has dipped during his tenure in Houston. However, he has been a consistent double-double threat, something that shouldn’t change moving ahead.
