Christian Wood Traded To Dallas

Christian Wood

The Rockets are trading forward/center Christian Wood to the Mavericks in exchange for the No. 26 pick in the 2022 NBA Draft. Also included, Dallas is sending Boban Marjanovic, Marquese Chriss, Trey Burke, and Sterling Brown, who are all on expiring contracts. Wood has been a capable producer during his two seasons in Houston, averaging 19.1 points and 9.9 boards while shooting 38.2% from deep. He’s due to make $14.3 million this season, providing much-needed support for a Dallas team sorely lacking a stable presence underneath the basket. The 26-year-old has had issues staying healthy over the years, and his free throw percentage has dipped during his tenure in Houston. However, he has been a consistent double-double threat, something that shouldn’t change moving ahead.
