Daulton Varsho Kept Hitless In Wednesday’s Loss

Arizona Diamondbacks right fielder Daulton Varsho is congratulated by designated hitter Pavin Smith

Arizona Diamondbacks catcher Daulton Varsho went without a hit in the 10-4 loss to the San Diego Padres on Wednesday. He was 0-for-5 with a pair of punch-outs. Varsho’s now hitting .237 with nine home runs, 32 runs, 28 RBI, and four stolen bases across 64 games. After a strong start to the season, the 25-year-old has done almost nothing since the end of May. Over his last 30 games, Varsho’s slashing .229/.276/.356 with three home runs and one stolen base. He’s startable in two catcher leagues, but fantasy managers in shallower formats can bench him until he turns things around.
