Golden State Warriors guard Gary Payton II (elbow) may be available for the NBA Finals opener versus the Celtics. The defensive specialist hasn’t played since injuring his elbow during the series against the Memphis Grizzlies. But head coach Steve Kerr recently indicated Payton is progressing, although it’s too early to tell if he’ll be ready on Thursday night. The 29-year-old has averaged 6.1 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.3 assists throughout his seven playoff appearances thus far. He isn’t a consistent DFS producer by any means. However, Payton should get some work if he can suit up, putting him in play as a viable value option.
