James Paxton Completes Bullpen Session

James Paxton

Boston Red Sox starting pitcher James Paxton (elbow) completed a bullpen session on Saturday. It was the first time he’d thrown off a mound in over a month. Red Sox manager Alex Cora was encouraged by the bullpen session, calling it “really good.” According to Cora, Paxton threw about 15 pitches. The 33-year-old veteran is expected to throw another bullpen session on either Tuesday or Wednesday. Paxton is in the midst of recovering from Tommy John surgery, which he underwent last April. He had a setback a little over a month ago when he was experiencing elbow soreness. He seems to be back on track now, but he remains without a firm timetable.
