Josh Donaldson Returns To Lineup Wednesday

Josh Donaldson

New York Yankees third baseman Josh Donaldson is back at third base and is hitting fifth on Wednesday against Tampa Bay Rays left-hander Shane McClanahan after serving his one-game suspension on Tuesday. With DJ LeMahieu shifting to second base while hitting leadoff, Gleyber Torres will serve as the designated hitter and bat sixth on Wednesday. Since returning from a stint on the COVID injured list and while being sidelined with a shoulder injury, Donaldson hasn’t done much at the plate, going 7-for-32 (.219) with no home runs, three RBI and nine strikeouts in eight games since June 3. Overall, he’s hitting just .235/.335/.395 with five homers and 18 RBI in 191 plate appearances and will be a weak DFS play against a strong left-hander.
