LaMonte Wade Jr. Suffers Setback

LaMonte Wade Jr.

San Francisco Giants outfielder LaMonte Wade Jr. (hamstring, knee) felt tightness in his left hamstring while doing baserunning drills, prompting the Giants to back off on his possible return. The team’s medical staff prefers to consider Wade’s injury “separate” from his knee. Wade was one of the Giants leading hitters last year with 18 home runs, but he’s played in only 10 of 57 games this year due to injuries. The 28-year-old will be re-evaluated early next week, but his return from the injured list will be delayed. In 25 at-bats for San Francisco this year, Wade has gone 6-for-25 (.240) with a homer, five RBI and four runs scored.
