Lewin Diaz On The Bench Against The Mets

Miami Marlins first baseman Lewin Diaz is congratulated by third base coach Trey Hillman

Miami Marlins first baseman Lewin Diaz is not in the starting lineup on Monday against New York Mets left-hander David Peterson. Diaz was recalled from the minors for the weekend series against the Mets and went 1-for-10 with a double and a run scored while starting two games. The 25-year-old should continue to start at first base against right-handed pitchers with Jesus Aguilar on the COVID-19 list. Garrett Cooper will get the nod at first base on Monday and will bat cleanup. Cooper will be a solid DFS target in the cleanup spot, as he’s hitting .375 (12-for-32) with three RBI and four runs scored in eight games over the last two weeks.
