San Diego Padres designated hitter Luke Voit had his best day of the season at the plate Tuesday against the Chicago Cubs, going 2-for-6 with a home run, a double, five RBI, and two runs scored in a 12-5 victory. Voit has now provided four long balls in June, bringing his season total to seven. While his slash line in 183 plate appearances this year is a pedestrian .226/.306/.396, Voit has plenty of pop and has carved out a middle-of-the-lineup spot for a potent offense, giving him plenty of opportunity to rack up counting stats.
