Matt Olson Slashing .200/.273/.340 In June

Matt Olson

Atlanta Braves first baseman Matt Olson went 1-for-5 at the plate in the team’s 9-5 win over the Washington Nationals on Monday. The 28-year-old has had a quiet month of June thus far. Through 12 games this month, he’s slashing .200/.273/.340 with just three extra-base hits (two homers, one double). Olson notched career-highs in both home runs (39) and RBI (111) last year. Over his first 62 games this year, he has just eight home runs and 31 RBI, putting him on a 162-game pace of about 21 home runs and 81 RBI. He’s been plagued by a 1.23 GB/FB rate and a 13.1% HR/FB rate this year. If he can get those numbers closer to where they were last year (0.91, 19.3%), we should see him start to turn things around.
