Matt Strahm, John Schreiber Pitch Ninth Inning Tuesday

Boston Red Sox relief pitcher Matt Strahm is congratulated by catcher Christian Vazquez

Boston Red Sox relief pitchers Matt Strahm and Josh Schreiber pitched the ninth inning in Tuesday’s 5-4 win over the Tigers. Strahm started the ninth inning with a two-run lead. He allowed a leadoff, solo home run and got the next two hitters out on a ground out and a strikeout. Strahm was then replaced by Schreiber, who allowed a single before getting the final out on a ground out. Schreiber now has two saves on the season and Strahm has three. However, Tanner Houck appears to be the bullpen arm to roster in fantasy right now, as he had earned the team’s previous five saves and likely only did not pitch tonight because he had pitched in the previous two games.
