Mavericks Eyeing Collin Sexton

Collin Sexton

The Dallas Mavericks, fresh off losing Jalen Brunson to the Knicks, are now interested in Cleveland Cavaliers guard Collin Sexton, according to Chris Fedor of The Plain Dealer.

Brunson agreed to a four-year, $104 million deal this offseason, leaving Dallas with a major void in its lineup. It’s not apparent at this time who, if anyone, on the roster can rise to the level Brunson played at during the playoff run. Sexton would be an interesting add for the Mavericks, potentially bringing in another high usage player alongside star guard Luka Doncic.

At this stage the Cavaliers do not appear to be interested in dealing the restricted free agent Sexton, at least not for what the Mavericks can offer. The 23-year-old was recently cleared to resume basketball activities after missing nearly all of last season with a knee injury. He could prove to be a valuable addition to any team, providing instant offense to rosters desperately in need of that kind of spark.
