Mekhi Becton Suffers New Knee Injury

Zach Wilson spent much of his first year under duress for the New York Jets, running away from the absence of his star offensive tackle.

It looks like he’ll be without Mekhi Becton for round two.

The offensive tackle will likely miss a significant portion of 2022 after sustaining an injury to his knee cap and patella on Monday. It became apparent late on Monday that the injury was more serious than initially anticipated as it was not an aggravation of his linger knee injury.

The former first-rounder missing time opens a huge hole at right tackle, which has turned New York into an even bigger contender for Duane Brown’s services.

Becton is arguably the most important non-quarterback on the roster. This undoubtedly hurts the Jets’ chances of reaching the 5.5 win mark that FanDuel had set for them. Consider taking the under at +135.
