Mike Trout Gets The Day Off Wednesday

Los Angeles Angels center fielder Mike Trout

Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout isn’t starting Wednesday’s game against the Kansas City Royals. According to Angels interim manager Phil Nevin, Trout is “sore” and needed the day off. The superstar outfielder had not had a day off since suffering a groin injury on June 10. He is slashing .284/.385/.640 with 21 home runs, 43 RBI, 49 runs scored, and 33 walks over 63 games in 2022. Juan Lagares will take Trout’s place in the lineup, playing centerfield and batting eighth in Wednesday’s game.
