Mitch Trubisky Enduring Camp Struggles

Mitchell Trubisky signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers to lead them into the post-Ben Roethlisberger era.

As the bridge to rookie Kenny Pickett, Trubisky will carefully hold down the fort for as long as head coach Mike Tomlin will allows him. If training camp is a sign of things to come, that may not be long.

Camp statistics don’t mean much, but the offense has struggled to score with any real consistency. He’s kept control of the first-team reps for now, but Mason Rudolph may see looks as a starter if struggles continue. From there, it’s only a matter of time until the Pickett whispers begin to circulate.

While it may not bring a smile to the Steelers coaching staff, Trubisky’s struggles only help Pickett’s chances to win Offensive Rookie of the Year. The first quarterback off the board last April, Pickett is the favorite to win the award at +600.
