NFL Week 11

NFL Rapid Reaction Week 11: Stop disrespecting the Titans

After 11 weeks of the 2022 NFL season, it’s fairly clear that this AFC South division is all but wrapped up by now, but you wouldn’t know it based on how the media treats these four teams. Maybe we need to give more credit to one team in particular.

Start giving the Titans some respect

If you paid attention to the media, social media, local business conversations, watercooler talk, radio, television, or just any other form of communication imaginable, the Titans didn’t stand a chance on Thursday night at Lambeau Field. The Packers hit their stride against the Cowboys, Aaron Rodgers was himself again, Green Bay finally introduced themselves to the 2022 NFL season. Then Thursday night happened. Rodgers looked horrible, the Packers fell apart and just as quickly as Green Bay arrived, they departed the 2022 NFL season.

That’s what the Titans did on a frigid night with the snow falling, which is the beauty of the Titans. It doesn’t matter where Mike Vrabel’s team has to play. Derrick Henry and the defense travel well, and play well every single time. After defying the odds for multiple seasons in a row now, it’s time to give them that respect. Betting markets have them pegged as home underdogs against the Bengals this week, which might be the most disrespectful part of all. Whether they win or lose, when will Tennessee have done enough to warrant a change in approach from everyone involved with the league?

Competitive Colts can’t finish

For about 59 minutes, betting the Colts to win felt like a brilliant idea, which feels like an NFL betting tale as old as time. Imagine how much better our lives would be if games ended after 59 minutes. Has anything good ever happened in those final 60 seconds? Of course there has, but exaggerating is fun to do. Regardless, our Colts almost got the job done. Our coach, Jeff Saturday almost slayed the Eagles. Until they didn’t. Whether this game is more of an indictment on the Colts or Eagles remains to be seen, but let this serve as evidence why you should bet on the Colts, even reluctantly, when they are big underdogs. The Saturday Colts are Sunday’s moneymakers.

Turn off the Texans

Well, the time has finally arrived. The frisky Texans are no longer. Those young guys that nearly dragged them to a few wins earlier in the year have officially left the building. It really does not mean a lot for them beyond this season, but the fans stayed home, the team got smoked and, thanks to the Raiders win, all but ensured they will be on the clock when the regular season concludes in early January. Before you try and convince yourself otherwise, don’t. Houston would need at least two more wins to be in danger of losing that honor, which isn’t happening. Pack them up.

Hello there, I’m Nick Brinkerhoff, a New Jersey native with enough sarcasm and attitude to show I’m not from New York. Despite being Jersey born and bred, I’m a diehard New York sports fan (Jets, Nets, Rangers, Mets) who has seen plenty of losing, but my sports betting ability will hopefully continue to balance those scales. I have season tickets to the Jets but believe it to be more character building than bad asset management. Althoug
