NFL Week 12

NFL Rapid Reaction Week 12: Can Mike remain White-hot?

It was another fun week in what might just be the most competitive division in all of football. The AFC East. With all four teams in action, that meant we got to watch some wild storylines continue to unfold.

What happened to Buffalo?

Thanksgiving began with a fun showdown in Detroit, which at this point might be the Bills home away from home. However, in what was supposed to be a laugher at Ford Field where the result would’ve been decided before Bebe Rexha even started performing at halftime, the Bills let those pesky Lions hang around. Obviously 12 weeks is a long time, but it feels like a lifetime ago that this Buffalo team dismantled the defending Super Bowl champs on a Thursday night in Los Angeles. They continue to maintain that Josh Allen’s injury isn’t that big of a deal, but maybe they should change their tune. Because the unexplained regression would be a much worse outcome for Sean McDermott’s injury riddled squad.

The Patriots are unrecognizable

For years, the Patriots had a solid winning formula. It was simple. Don’t beat yourselves and don’t make stupid mistakes. Well, unfortunately for Bill Belichick, his team doesn’t even look like his anymore. Whether it was special teams miscues or costly penalties, the two hallmarks of Patriots success were nowhere to be found on Thanksgiving night with turkey legs from NBC on the line. To add insult to injury, no one can still say for certain whether Hunter Henry’s potential touchdown was a catch or not. It’s not all bad though Patriots fans. At least Mac Jones played probably his best game of the season.

Pay attention to these Dolphins

Mike McDaniel might be the subject of endless memes for his rather unorthodox style of, well, just about everything. However, don’t get it twisted. He is a very good coach, one that Dolphins fans should be thrilled to have. Sunday’s win was no different. They came prepared and took care of business, holding a 30-0 lead at the half. We’ll want to see how it looks against teams that aren’t the Texans, but it’s nearly impossible to not enjoy watching this group and McDaniel is a big reason for that.

Robert Saleh pushes the right buttons

Being the head coach of the Jets is no easy feat and it’s certainly not for the faint of heart. Yet in the nation’s largest media market, Robert Saleh had the guts to bench the second overall pick in last year’s draft, in favor of a 5th round pick in the 2018 draft, Mike White. In a monsoon at MetLife Stadium, White led the Jets to a dominating victory on Sunday, with the team’s offense at its best. So many players were involved in the action as White completed passes to 10 different receivers on the afternoon. Regardless, it’s important to remember that they beat the Bears. Let’s see them do it again before we start fitting White for a gold jacket in Canton.

Hello there, I’m Nick Brinkerhoff, a New Jersey native with enough sarcasm and attitude to show I’m not from New York. Despite being Jersey born and bred, I’m a diehard New York sports fan (Jets, Nets, Rangers, Mets) who has seen plenty of losing, but my sports betting ability will hopefully continue to balance those scales. I have season tickets to the Jets but believe it to be more character building than bad asset management. Althoug
