Nicolas Batum Expected To Decline Player Option

Los Angeles Clippers forward Nicolas Batum gets the ball away from New Orleans Pelicans forward Brandon Ingram

Los Angeles Clippers forward Nicolas Batum is expected to decline his player option for next season. The veteran forward appears ready to decline his $3.3 million option and head to free agency. He started 54 games with the Clippers last season, but has become more of a role player. Batum averaged 8.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, one steal, and 1.2 triples in 24.8 minutes per game. He’s not in his prime anymore, but can still be a capable option in the NBA. It sounds like the Clippers have interest in bringing back Batum for next season. Regardless, it’s unlikely Batum carries reliable fantasy value wherever he lands.
