You never want to see a quarterback get hurt during training camp. Thankfully, Patrick Mahomes’ ankle injury was more of a jump scare than anything else.
The Kansas City Chiefs superstar quarterback limped to the sideline and received medical attention after practice’s final 11-on-11 play on Monday.
“Yeah, he got stepped on,” said head coach Andy Reid. “He’s OK. He’s alright. An offensive lineman got pushed back into him.”
Mahomes will likely be a participant in practice tomorrow, even with a sore ankle. Ultimately, this was just a scare and should have no impact on his or the Chiefs’ future endeavors. Currently, DraftKings is offering +900 for Mahomes to win the MVP award. As long as he looks fine tomorrow, there shouldn’t be any concerns about that bet.
