Raiders Plan To Keep Josh Jacobs

As the Las Vegas Raiders enter the Josh McDaniels era, roster shake ups were expected.

Josh Jacobs wasn’t exactly one of them. Yet, there was buzz about a Jacobs demotion or trade as training camp began. Jacobs has flashed as a workhorse, but doesn’t offer much in the passing game and doesn’t create many big plays.

The rumblings of Las Vegas’ distrust might have shown during the Hall of Fame game, where Jacobs played, unlike most starters. The Raiders also did not accept his fifth-year option.

McDaniels claimed Jacobs played in order to take live hits that otherwise are hard to find before Week 1. Even if he isn’t on the chopping block, it’s possible Kenyan Drake and Zamir White take away touches, especially on third down.

As a result, Jacobs is only projected to get 750.5 rushing yards, per DraftKings. The workload concerns are baked into the total, leaving enticing opportunities of -115 odds on either side of the wager, depending on your take on the situation.
