Upcoming restricted free agent forward/center Nicolas Claxton will be available over the summer. While Brooklyn would certainly love to keep him on the roster, the franchise may not be willing to match a full mid-level exception offer of $10.5 million. The Rockets have recently surfaced as a team looking to add another big man, especially one capable of supporting Alperen Sengun, so adding Claxton makes perfect sense. The 23-year-old averaged 8.7 points, 5.6 boards, and 1.1 blocks throughout 47 games in 2021-22. However, regardless of where he suits up this season, he isn’t expected to be a consistent contributor, although he should have more than a few fantastic shows during the year.
