The Bills Secondary is in Shambles

Just when the Buffalo Bills were solidifying their claim to being the overwhelming favorite to win it all, adversity has struck.

Star free safety Micah Hyde will miss the rest of the season because of a neck injury. Cornerback Dane Jackson might miss Sunday’s game against the Dolphins because of a neck injury and strong safety Jordan Poyer is dealing with a foot injury.

The Dolphins are getting +5.5 at FanDuel, which suddenly looks a lot more attractive.

Miami, of course, now has one of the NFL’s most electrifying receiver tandems in Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. The Bills had one of the most potent safety combines in Hyde and Poyer.

Jaquan Johnson will take over Hyde’s spot. Damar Hamlin would fill in for Poyer if he can’t go. The Bills have won their first two games, 72-17. They are the overwhelming favorites to win the Super Bowl at +400. Miami is at +2500.

The big question facing the Dolphins coming into the season is if Tua Tagovailoa is the quarterback capable of remaining healthy and leading this loaded Miami offense. In addition to Hill and Waddle, Miami has red zone threat in tight end Mike Gesicki and a quartet of running backs, led by Raheem Mostert.

Tagovailoa has been exceptional, completing 71-percent of his passes with seven touchdowns and two picks. For the former Alabama star, this game was going to be the first big AFC East test. It just got a lot easier with the Bills secondary in a shambles.
