Trade Discussions For D’Angelo Russell To Intensify

Minnesota Timberwolves guard D'Angelo Russell

Minnesota Timberwolves guard D’Angelo Russell has been rumored to be on the move ever since Tim Connelly agreed to become the president of basketball operations. However, while serious trade discussion haven’t occurred, talks are expected to intensify ahead of Thursday’s NBA Draft. The 26-year-old averaged 18.1 points in 2021-22, his lowest since his first season in Brooklyn in 2017. He did produce a career-high 7.1 assists. Yet, he shot just 34% from deep, the second-worst mark as a professional. Nonetheless, Russell has proven he can be an impactful fantasy option, so managers shouldn’t dismiss him. Yet, regardless of where the former Buckeye suits up this year, he’ll need to remain healthy, which continues to be an issue, and his shooting percentages also much to improve.
