The Jacksonville Jaguars hit the reset button once again this offseason, overhauling a broken roster and hiring a new coaching staff. Perhaps the one move they didn’t have to make will be the most impactful though. Jacksonville will be getting running back Travis Etienne Jr. back this season, after he was sidelined for his entire rookie campaign.
In a Jaguar offense not known for its star power, Etienne could provide a big lift for second year quarterback Trevor Lawrence. Not to mention the familiarity involved in that as well, given that Etienne and Lawrence both starred together at Clemson before departing for the NFL.
Etienne is said to be looking explosive and a shining star in training camp, while concerns about speed and explosiveness following the Lisfranc foot injury are a thing of the past. It’s also said that coach Doug Pederson is moving Etienne around and using him in a variety of ways. Even though James Robinson will be most likely returning in the middle of the month, Etienne is still set to have a major role in the Jaguars offense.
So fantasy managers and bettors need to keep their eyes on Etienne in fantasy drafts and weekly prop bets, as it appears the former Clemson star will be a big time moneymaker when the 2022 season kicks off.
