Tyquan Thorton Scores In Preseason Opener

The New England Patriots have a glaring weakness: drafting wide receivers early in drafts.

Time and time again, they’ve taken a flame-out wide receiver with big names still on the board. Second-round pick Tyquan Thorton aims to change that.

Thorton, known for his 6-foot-2 frame and 4.28 speed, is a big play threat through and through. He didn’t get to showcase that on Thursday, but he did score a two-yard touchdown against the New York Giants.

His role is not yet defined, as he sits behind Jakobi Meyers, Kendrick Bourne, and DeVante Parker, but head coach Bill Belichick will certainly use his speed in creative ways.

His current odds for Offensive Rookie of the Year are +7500, per DraftKings. For a Hail Mary wager that isn’t too bad, but you may be more inclined to dial it down and put money on someone like Skyy Moore or Jalen Tolbert (both +1000) instead.
