The Aiyuk File
- 25th overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft
- One First-Team All-Pac-12 selection, 2019
From California JuCo to California Fame
Brandon Aiyuk has earned a reputation with the San Francisco 49ers as a talented players that has had a little trouble evading the dog house. However, his history with coaching confrontation starts back in Rocklin, Calif.
Back at Sierra College, a dominant Aiyuk found himself at odds with his head coach after being taken off of special teams. After a brief argument with his coach, Aiyuk won the argument and saw some special teams action, along with the typical responsibilities that come with being the best player on the team. In his next game, he scored six times.
Before a detour to Arizona State, Aiyuk lit up the west coast, and now aims to do so once again. Maybe 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan isn't too happy with the fight he started at practice, but if history (and his teammates' words) show, it's coming from a good place. Winning in Calif. is a trademark of Aiyuk's. With a new quarterback under center, it's time for him to fulfill that promise.
