Chris Olave is the Emergency Everything
Look, you don't get drafted with the 11th overall pick in the NFL draft without being good at something. In Chris Olave's case, he's a wide receiver touched by the hand of God to boast elite skills as a deep threat and enough talent to be the top receiver on his New Orleans Saints team, as a rookie.
However, injuries pile up like snow in Minnesota during the 17-game season, and it's nice to have guys that can fill multiple roles on a team. The Saints have already shown the world what Taysom Hill can do, letting him play pretend under center, carrying the ball, playing tight end, and making plays on special teams.
If enough guys get hurt, maybe Olave could step in somewhere. Of course, teams are going to protect their star receivers from extraneous injury risk, but you never know.
Olave boasts a multi-sport background from his high school days, lettering in baseball, basketball, and track when he wasn't dominating the gridiron. Perhaps his favorite alternate spot remained on the green and white grass: defensive back.
Whether it be on a Hail Mary attempt or a preseason joke of a rep, don't be surprised when the athletic Ohio State product makes a play on the wrong side of the ball.
