One vice vanquished. One other vice might still be in play.
After posting just 4.5 sacks last season, the lowest total since his rookie season of 2015, Frank Clark decided to make some changes. He eliminated liquor (and red meat) from his diet. After playing at about 262 last season, the Chiefs pass rusher reported camp about 10 pounds lighter, the weight range he has played at most of his career.
Clark expects to have a big season for a Kansas City defense that should be very good. But one dietary mystery remains when it comes to Clark: Has he kicked his Lucky Charms craving? When he was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in 2015, Clark discovered the cereal on his first tour of the team’s training complex.
"I had so many bowls of Lucky Charms you wouldn't believe it," he said. "They told me it was all you can eat Lucky Charms, until the nutritionist came around the corner like, 'Frank, if we get you here we're going to take those Lucky Charms away.' I'm trying to tell her like, 'I love Lucky Charms!'"
