Jerry Jeudy has yet to make a Pro Bowl, no less All Pro. He hasn’t won a Super Bowl or been mentioned in the same sentence with Justin Jefferson or CeeDee Lamb, two receivers drafted after Jeudy in 2020. Heck, he wasn’t even the first Alabama receiver taken that season.
But Jeudy is so revered in his hometown of Deerfield Beach, Fla. that his name is used as a verb: Jeudying.
The former Alabama receiver is so explosive and so technically sound coming out of his breaks that when he left a defensive back in the dust it was referred to as Jeudying. But for now, Jeudy is on the redemption route.
After a solid rookie season for the Broncos (52 catches for 856 yards and three touchdowns), Jeudy was limited to just 10 games last season because of a high ankle sprain. His numbers dipped to 38 catches for 467 yards and no touchdowns. Then came his arrest for second-degree criminal tampering with a domestic violence enhancer, a misdemeanor. His girlfriend has asked for those charges to be dropped.
The 2022 season is a pivotal one for Jeudy. He expects to be completely healthy and hopes the legal issues are behind him. Then he can get back to Jeudying.
