Identity Theft Is Not A Joke, Kenny
Kenny Clark has quickly become one of the league's most feared defensive tackles. On that road, though, were some small bumps that scared Clark to death.
Upon entering the team facility at the end of camp in 2018, a scout asked him for his iPad, a bad sign of what could be to come.
"I was so scared," Clark said. "I was walking down the hallway and people were walking past me and they're looking at me like, 'What?'"
Clark wasn't sure if he was traded, cut, or suspended, but the tackle didn't previously hold any fears about his job security. It turns out general manager Brian Gutekunst did not recognize Clark, one of the defense's most important players. He was about to cut Clark, unaware of how cataclysmic of a move it would have been. The mistaken identity conflict would quickly be resolved, but it was a shocking referendum on the state of affairs within Green Bay.
Thankfully for the Packers, Clark wasn't too offended. He made sure they would know his name and face by dominating the league for years to come.
