Deceiving Coaches and Tackles Alike
Nick Bosa isn't just an elite defensive end. He's also an elite prankster.
Right before the San Francisco 49ers played in Super Bowl LIV, the then rookie (and George Kittle) schemed up a plan to keep the team loose. At the final practice before the big game, multiple 49ers swapped jerseys in an effort to fool the coaching staff. Bosa switched uniforms with safety Jimmie Ward, while members of the offense found more believable partners from the same position group.
"They surprised us with it," said head coach Kyle Shanahan. "They are loose and feeling good, and they had fun with it. We'll see how it is when we watch the film."
San Francisco would go on to lose to the Kansas City Chiefs. Still, Bosa's gravity on the field and in the locker room signifies a bright future, one filled with as many sacks as practical jokes.
