Vita Vea: The Versatile Big Man
Vita Vea is known for his punishing size and his ability to both disrupt run plays and push the pocket on passing downs. He's not exactly known for scoring touchdowns.
The all-world defensive tackle did just that in high school. As a student, he played a little bit of running back. In his four years, he accumulated 69 carries, 764 yards, and 12 touchdowns. Frankly, I can't blame his coach for using someone of Vea's size as an offensive weapon. Imaging taking a calculus exam and then having to tackle the biggest high schooler on the face of the planet. No thanks.
Vea has taken that skill set to the NFL, used sparingly on offense as a red zone weapon and decoy alike. Big man touchdowns are good for the heart, so hopefully Vea shows off some touchdown dances sometime soon.
