For fans of basketball and horse racing, that certainly would be the case. Kentucky is home to one of the most prestigious horse racing events of the year and a world-famous basketball college blue blood. Unfortunately, horse racing is the only action that residents can partake in since sports betting currently is not legal.
Louisville is the biggest city in Kentucky with roughly 630,000 people. There are no major professional sports teams that call KY home. That’s why collegiate sports are such a big deal in the state. The only places to gamble are at horse racing tracks. The good news is there a lot of locations within Kentucky for people who would like to wager. For residents looking to gamble on sports and in casinos, the state is surrounded by legal states. Tennessee, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, West Virginia and Virginia are all legal states for betting.
