Yes, gambling is legal in Massachusetts. Governor Charlie Baker signed House Bill 5164 to legalize sports betting in 2022. However, the first mobile and retail sportsbooks won’t be launched until the early part of 2023.
The Bill allows up to 15 mobile sportsbooks to operate within MA. There are currently three land-based casinos in place right now who will operate as brick-and-mortar sportsbook locations. There are provisions in place to create more locations and racebooks.
