Aledmys Diaz Exits Saturday Early With Shoulder Injury

Aledmys Diaz

Houston Astros infielder Aledmys Diaz (shoulder) was removed from Saturday’s game against the Chicago White Sox due to left shoulder discomfort. He went 0-for-2 with a strikeout before being replaced in the game. The 31-year-old is considered day-to-day. Diaz was replaced in the at shortstop by Mauricio Dubon. Houston finds themselves suddenly thin at the position with Jeremy Pena (thumb) on the 10-day injured list and Diaz now sidelined. Dubon would see an uptick in playing time with both Pena and Diaz out. The 27-year-old is a speculative add in deep-league formats after slashing .215/.235/.329 across 86 plate appearances in 2022.
