Houston Texans wide receiver John Metchie III announced he was diagnosed with Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia (APL) on Sunday.
Thankfully, this type of blood cancer is considered the most curable.
The rookie speedster had already been rehabbing a torn ACL that put a dent in his draft stock.

It’s clear that Metchie will most likely not play football in 2022, though he remains in good spirits. We wish him a full and quick recovery.
