Kayvon Thibodeaux Injures Knee

Kayvon Thibodeaux

Things got real scary, real fast for New York Giants fans on Sunday night when they saw their first round pick Kayvon Thibodeaux go down in a lot of pain during a preseason matchup against the Bengals.

As Thibodeaux laid on the ground grabbing his knee, surely Giants fans assumed the worst, especially once the cart was brought out for him. However, he waved the cart away, walked off the field on his own, and before the night was over, positivity began to creep into the minds of everyone surrounding the organization. The fifth pick in the 2022 NFL Draft was seemingly fine, despite the horrific thoughts on a knee injury still in the back of everyone’s mind.

However, he was seen joking with teammates and even laughing at times, an even better sign. Tests on Monday revealed a sprained MCL for Thibodeaux, an injury that will sideline him for 3-4 weeks, a much better prognosis than any ACL tear would’ve been.

While the Giants hold out hope that he will be ready for the season opener, they will sleep even better knowing he’ll be back in game action soon enough, rather than having to wait until next year to watch their top draft pick in uniform. Fantasy managers shouldn’t worry about Thibodeaux’s status moving forward, and bettors should be eager to see him in a new look Giants defense.
