Despite a new coaching staff in place, things won’t be all that different for the Minnesota Vikings offense. Wide receiver Adam Thielen will still be a featured player for the Vikings red zone offense.
New head coach Kevin O’Connell expressed that to Kevin Seifert of ESPN saying, “The Vikings are doing everything they can to preserve the Cousins-Thielen scoring connection.” The 31-year-old Thielen is no stranger to the end zone, grabbing 24 touchdowns over the last two seasons.
“He’s always been strong with the football,” Cousins said. “He has great natural hands, great body control, and he plays big. He plays big and strong, and he runs big and strong. That shows up in the red zone and in tight windows and in tight coverage.”
Despite the presence of Justin Jefferson, Thielen remains a solid fantasy option and someone certainly worthy of an anytime touchdown scorer bet on a week-to-week basis. In fact, DraftKings is offering +2500 on Thielen to lead the league in receiving touchdowns this season, meaning a $100 bet will win $2,500.
