Top Ten Sportsbooks & Betting Sites

The Basics

So you want to bet on sports, but you just have not been able to decide where to start. Or maybe you are a long time sports bettor, but are in the market for a new sportsbook. Well, you’ve come to the right place, as here are the top ten sportsbooks, reviewed by myself and Bet Basics betting experts.

1. FanDuel Sportsbook

It should come as no surprise that America’s top sportsbook claims the top spot. There is an endless menu of options to choose from that range from typical favorites like the NFL and NBA, all the way down to rugby and darts. Trust us, you won’t be bored using the FanDuel app. Maybe a little broke depending on how successful your bets are, but never, ever bored.

Better yet, they are now offering streaming for select games and continue to have fast withdrawals, some of which can land in your bank account within an hour after bet settlement.

For arguably the most recognizable name in the industry, you can’t go wrong with this choice.

2. Caesars Sportsbook

Being treated like royalty is always nice and that’s exactly what you get from Caesars. Their most common phrase, “Welcome Emperor,” will have you coming back wanting more each and every time. Although their odds do lack sometimes in comparison to the competition, their endless casino offerings more than make up for that. What we really loved was Caesars Sportsbook bonuses, which were extremely generous and unlike some sportsbooks, they didn't settle for a 1st deposit bonus and goodbye. They had great reload bonuses! Just like FanDuel, have plenty of potential wagers for you to sift through, which can be a bettor’s dream. One of the biggest things Caesars Sportsbook has over a competitor like FanDuel is the potential same game parlay (SGP) options, which aren’t as limited as FanDuel in some sports. Couple that with a beautiful app and you’ve found yourself a winner. Enjoy, Emperor.

 3. DraftKings

Another mainstay in the betting landscape, DraftKings joins the party to round out the top three. It’s fairly similar to the other two in terms of odds and offerings, but where it stands apart is in some of the more unique potential wagers that are out there which no other site has. During the NFL season, you can get lost in shuffling through all the weekend specials they have, which only carries over into other sports throughout the year. For a site as popular as DraftKings, reliability and reputation are there, making this book a good bet for your rotation.

4. Unibet

A little bit of an unknown in the American betting landscape, Unibet offers some nice sign up offers and rewards that can get anyone to walk through the door. Maybe you want to sign up for the chance to take advantage of those new customer offers, but don’t be surprised if you find yourself sticking around longer after experimenting with the app a few times. Unibet is an example of why you don’t always need to spend a lot on marketing to carve out a role in the industry.

5. PointsBet

If you are looking for a sportsbook that is completely unlike any other, then PointsBet is for you. In their attempt to revolutionize the industry, PointsBet stands out in terms of mobile app performance, look and feel, and especially the points betting system. Confusing for some and thrilling for others, the system can allow bettors to increase the stakes a little by taking some more risk in each wager, allowing bettors to win or lose more depending on how right they were. Unfortunately, they lack in being able to protect Drew Brees from lightning, which is a strike against their marketing team for allowing everyone to believe that actually happened.

6. BetMGM

Another Vegas staple, BetMGM is a recognizable name which should be comforting to potential customers. The app is quick and easy to navigate, with fast bet times and a loaded casino section. Overall it has a nice look and feel to it, but bettors might become frustrated with how quickly some live betting options can lock, or change before placing a parlay.

7. BetRivers

One of the greatest things about BetRivers, as well as one of the worst, is just how many options there are whenever you log on. At first it can be daunting to see so many things in one place, but after getting the hang of it, you’ll be in good hands. The load times are extremely fast, withdrawals are quick and painless, and the rewards program is well, rewarding. They might be better off in the future with an update that makes the app less cluttered but until then, you can’t go wrong with this choice either.

8. Bet365

Coming in at number eight is Bet365 sportsbook, which is only this low for one reason. It’s not available in enough places. If Bet365 was like many of the others on this list, then it would be much higher as well. Bet365 allows customers to place live SGP’s in the same way they could pregame. They have some incredible odds boosts and lightning fast withdrawals. A sportsbook known for its worldwide status, this one could easily climb the rankings as it makes its way into more states across America.

9. WynnBET

Somewhat of a smaller and lesser known sportsbook, WynnBET caters to that small audience, with lightning boosts that are typically limited to no more than 50 people in some cases. Wynn is arguably the perfect option for bettors that are just getting started, with how easy they make the site to navigate. They don’t offer many player props or have the fastest withdrawals, which does bring down their score just a little, but no one can be disappointed with the fair odds they offer on just about every event, as well as some of the best live betting around.

10. Barstool Sportsbook

Rounding out the top ten is Barstool Sportsbook. Let’s be clear. It’s not particularly great at many things, but they offer some interesting bets that cannot be found elsewhere primarily because the sportsbook allows Barstool talent to craft their own wacky wagers. If you’ve ever wanted to try your luck at an “Uncut Gems” level parlay, this is the place you’ll find it. Plus, they offer some fun promotions, giving out merchandise, which can be enticing to some. The site does sometimes lack in the amount of odds offerings, but it’s not a bad pick to be in the rotation, particularly when it comes to college sports betting.

Before you head to any of the abovementioned sportsbooks and casinos, make sure to check our odds calculator. This great tool will help you build your parlay or single bet with ease. You'll get to see what your implied odds are, and how a small improvement in odds can go a long way. We strongly recommend to compare sportsbook odds before making any bet. Bet Basics members saved hundreds of thousands of dollars by comparing and taking advantage of boosted odds.
